Essential summer skin care tips

Hello Lovies,

So I know it's not Summer for everyone, but I know for some countries it is. The Summer's can reach high temperatures so it is important to take a few needful steps to look after your skin. Whilst Summer can be a lot of fun, skin damage on the other hand can cause premature ageing of the skin, causing wrinkles, marks, dry skin and even skin cancer over time. Therefore I put together some tips that shall keep your skin fresh and looking at it's best.

Sun protection- If you are going to go out during the day where the sun ray's are stronger and can affect your skin then apply that important sunscreen at least 30 minutes before you step outside. If you have been out in the sun for a few hours then reapply it so you are well protected. I admit that I really don't like wearing sunscreen as most of them can be greasy, but I know I won't regret it later.

Stay hydrated- Your body tends to lose lots moisture during the summer so it is important to refill the H20 on a regular bases. Moreover, we all know that water can do wonders for your skin so be sure to drink plenty of water this summer then your skin will stay soft and moisturised.

Moisturise- Constantly moisturise yourself as that is a must to keep the skin hydrated. However, if you find your normal moisturiser too oily, switch to a water-based one. I use a cream called Balnium plus which has a protein known as urea that hydrates the skin.

Cleanse your skin- At least twice a day! This is so important to do even if you have been indoors all day and think your skin is clean. In addition, cleansing then applying moisturiser appropriate to your skin type before sleeping is an utter must.

Exfoliate- It is really important to exfoliate your skin in the summer in order to remove dead skin cells, get glowing skin and improve blood circulation to the face. Use a oil free body scrub along with exfoliating gloves. Follow it up by washing your skin thoroughly and moisturise. Do this 2-3 times a week and carry on exfoliating for more than the rest of the year to keep the skin looking new and beautiful.

Healthy living- Along with all the tips above, don’t forget to keep a balanced diet, work out and get minimum of seven hours of sleep.

I bet you didn't think it was that important huh?
