Why you should wear hijab

Hijab is actually compulsory. A lot of people think it's a choice due to women who walk around and say it's my choice to wear the hijab but we should keep in mind that it is a commandment from God. As Muslims, we believe that Allah is God and he knows what is best for us therefore he won't tell us to do something that is bad for us. Allah states in the Qur'an in Surah An-Nur Verse 31 (Also in Surah Al-Ahzab Verse 59) that the believing women should wear the hijab, lover their gaze and guard their beauty from men who tend to like looking at women. So a woman who covers herself is more likely to be respected as a person than looked upon as a piece of meat or toy because people will see you as a practicing sister. Therefore you won't be getting bad attention and attracting people. As well as that, people (particularly boys) will lower their gaze and shut you off which is a good thing.
